## Key figures

 * The recommended reverberation time for a typical classroom is around 0.6–0.8 
   s; in rooms for children with hearing impairments, it is lower.
 * For classrooms and auditoriums, ceiling tiles of sound absorption class A (αw
   0.9–1.0) are selected.
 * The background noise level in the classroom should be low so that the teacher’s
   speech is at least 10-15 dB above the noise.
