In acoustic suspended ceiling structures, the boards are installed in the space between the suspended ceiling and the floor slab. The boards can be mounted to the floor slabs using plastic “mushrooms” for securing the insulation boards. When used in non-hermetic structures, to prevent the release of material particles into the environment, it is recommended to first wrap the boards in a sound-permeable non-woven spunbond fabric.
