Soundline-PGP Super, a soundproofing panel for thin walls and partitions

Soundline-PGP Super panels are used to increase the soundproofing of interior partitions made of gypsum boards and aerated concrete up to 100 mm thick. The panels are mounted to the partitions from any side using universal screws or dowel screws, without gaps or frames.

Application area:

It is used for the installation of soundproofing cladding for lightweight single-layer partitions made of gypsum or aerated concrete, as well as inter-apartment walls and partitions.

IMPORTANT! Only cover one side of a thin partition with Soundline-PGP Super. Covering both sides is impractical—the additional soundproofing effect is significantly enhanced by covering only one side and is not enhanced by adding a layer to the other side of the partition.

Operating principle:

Thin partitions made of gypsum boards or aerated concrete, 80-100 mm thick, exhibit a characteristic resonant decrease (no increase) in sound insulation in the 200-600 Hz frequency range, which is crucial for noise insulation. 23 mm thick Soundline-PGP Super panels, installed on one side of the partition, reduce resonant sound transmission in this frequency range. This increases the overall sound insulation of the partition + Soundline-PGP Super system by 6 to 10 dB.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Due to the “anti-resonance” operating principle, elastic gaskets and sealants are not used during installation of these panels; the fastening points are sealed with ordinary putty! This significantly simplifies and reduces the cost of installation without loss of acoustic efficiency.

This design and the principle behind it are patented in the Russian Federation and the CIS countries.

Compound:

  • Gypsum fiber tongue and groove element (thickness 20 mm)
  • Multilayer fiberglass Vibrostek-V (thickness 3 mm)
  • Compensating washers (diameter 24 mm)

Distinctive features:

  • small panel thickness – only 23 mm
  • additional sound insulation of the partition – up to 10 dB
  • Very easy installation – no need for elastic gaskets or sealants!

  • Soundline-PGP Super panels are mounted on any side of a thin partition with a thickness of 80-100 mm.
  • Each panel has eight nodes for securing it to the surface. It’s easiest to install the panels from bottom to top, left to right.
The first panel’s tongues are trimmed along both the short and long sides, while the following panels in the first row are trimmed only along the long side.
  • Soundline-PGP Super panels are fastened with 8mm diameter dowel nails at least 60mm long. Soundline-PGP Super panels can be fastened to gypsum block walls and partitions using universal self-tapping screws with a diameter of 5-6mm and a minimum length of 60mm, without pre-drilling.
  • The panels are joined together using a tongue-and-groove joint. The tongue-and-groove joints are further secured with 3×20 mm gypsum fiber board screws, spaced 150-200 mm apart. When closing a row, the panel can be trimmed, with the trimmed portion carried over to the next row. The panels are cut using a jigsaw, and the fiberglass layer is trimmed with a sharp knife.
  • Cut panel sections shorter than 250 mm are not used. Panels are installed with staggered transverse joints in adjacent rows. The staggered joints must be at least 250 mm. If the groove of the panels in the last row is not cut to fit the actual wall size, strips of 10 mm thick gypsum fiberboard or plasterboard are inserted into the grooves and secured to the panels with 3×20 mm gypsum fiberboard screws.
  • If the panel is completely mounted on the wall surface, it is installed using only six fasteners (the central fasteners are not used). If the panel needs to be trimmed, all available fasteners are used.
