Acuflex

Acuflex

Acuflex is a specialized soundproofing fibrous roll material developed based on modern building acoustics requirements. It is a universal solution for soundproofing floors and protecting against impact noise.

Acuflex is a soundproofing material manufactured by Acoustic Group in 15-meter rolls. The material has been tested in the acoustic laboratories of the Scientific Research Institute of Building Physics and Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. It is recommended for use as an elastic layer in floating floor constructions, as well as as an underlay for finished floor coverings. Acuflex technical specifications comply with GOST 23499-2022.

Scope of application

Acuflex material can be laid under a cement-sand screed or under a finishing layer (laminate, parquet board, linoleum).

Thanks to its thin thickness, Acuflex underlayment can be used in situations where removing the leveling screed is impossible. Acuflex sheets are rolled out on it, and 20 mm thick Knauf flooring elements are laid on top. This solution is ideal for porcelain stoneware or ceramic tile finishes.

A semi-dry cement-sand screed can be installed over Acuflex without a separating layer of polyethylene film. This method is suitable for use in new buildings during rough work prior to occupancy.

Compound

The material is made of elastic polyester synthetic fiber, processed to obtain stable sound-insulating properties.

Distinctive features

  • Universal application: for finishing coatings and leveling screeds;
  • Increases the lifespan of your floor covering by circulating air and moisture;
  • The fibrous structure guarantees stable acoustic performance throughout its entire service life;
  • Allows for the creation of a thin and effective design for additional impact noise insulation (ΔL' nw = 21 dB) without the use of a levelling screed.

Description

  • Packaging Roll width: 1 m Roll length: 15 m Thickness: 4 mm Roll weight: 5.0 kg Physical and technical characteristics
    • Surface density: 300 g/m2
    • Breaking load along the length and width: not less than 750 N
    • Thermal conductivity coefficient (λ), W/m ̊С: 0.036

    Reduction of the reduced impact noise level:
    Impact noise reduction:

    • under a 15 mm parquet board: ΔL nw = 17 dB
    • under 8 mm thick laminate: ΔL nw = 20 dB
    • under a cement-sand screed with a surface density of 120 kg/m2 with a separating layer: ΔL nw = 28 dB;
    • under a cement-sand screed with a surface density of 120 kg/m2 without a separating layer: ΔL nw = 24 dB;
    • under a 20 mm thick KNAUF floor element with 8 mm thick ceramic tiles laid on top: ΔL nw = 21 dB.

    Tests were performed by the acoustic measurements laboratory of the Scientific Research Institute of Physics of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences in Moscow and the acoustics laboratory of the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (NNGASU) in Nizhny Novgorod. The material’s performance was verified under natural conditions.

    The standard value of the impact noise index for floors between apartment rooms is Lnw ≤ 60 dB. (SP 51.13330.2011)

  • Instructions for installing Acuflex under a screed to form an edge layer (with an extension to the walls).

    When constructing a soundproof floor structure, the following materials are used:

    • Soundproofing underlay Acuflex;
    • Construction tape;
    • Reinforced polyethylene film;
    • Cement-sand mixture for screed construction of grade not lower than M300;
    • Reinforcing mesh with a cell size of 50×50 mm and a rod diameter of 4 mm.

    The structure consists of a layer of reinforced cement-sand screed at least 60 mm thick laid on Acuflex soundproofing material. Acuflex rolls are laid on the ceiling across the entire floor area of the protected space and are then inserted vertically onto the wall to ensure acoustic decoupling of the screed from the walls.
