ROCKWOOL® vapor barrier for roofs, walls, ceilings
ROCKWOOL® vapor barriers for roofs, walls, and ceilings are designed to limit the flow of water vapor passing from interior spaces through insulation and to protect the internal elements of building structures.
A two-layer material made of non-woven polypropylene laminated with a layer of hot-melt polypropylene and/or polyethylene. The material has a two-layer structure: one side is smooth, the other has a rough surface to retain condensate droplets and facilitate their subsequent evaporation. The use of a membrane in the structure is important for its durability.
Description
Applications: frame structures of insulated pitched roofs, walls, ceilings, and interior insulation. Installed on the warm side of the insulation with the smooth surface facing it.
It is recommended to leave a 1 cm air gap between the vapor barrier and the interior finish. “ROCKWOOL® vapor barriers for roofs, walls, and ceilings” reduce heat loss, ensure comfortable humidity levels in rooms, and extend the life of the entire structure.

Insulation of a floor with wooden joists

Floor joists are installed at intervals of 0.6 or 1 m. LIGHT BATTS SCANDIC stone wool insulation boards are typically laid on boards or panels secured to the cranial beams, or on boards or steel wire fastened to the beams from below. The insulation must be protected from water vapor, which migrates toward the colder room. To achieve this, a layer of ROCKWOOL vapor barrier is installed over the insulation (on the inside of the warm room). To ensure better vapor impermeability, the vapor barrier sheets should be overlapped by 10–15 cm. The edges of the vapor barrier sheets are extended 10 cm above the insulation surface and secured to the wall with a baseboard. Floorboards and flooring are laid on the wooden joists.
